Crash Claims Lives: Head-on Accident on B156 Roadway Linking Whitewater and Boxberg
Fatal Traffic Accident on Federal Road 156
A tragic incident occurred on Monday morning, as a traffic accident involving a Nissan and a Suzuki took place on the B156 between Weißwasser and Boxberg.
According to the Police Directorate of Görlitz, the accident occurred around 11:10 AM, causing a complete closure of the road until 16:15 PM. Both vehicles involved were completely destroyed, with the Nissan and Suzuki sustaining approximately 35,000 euros in total damage.
Sadly, three lives were lost in the accident. The driver of the Suzuki, aged 87, and the passenger, also aged 86, died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Nissan, aged 66, died in the hospital due to severe injuries.
Two rescue helicopters were promptly deployed to the scene due to the accident. However, the names or identities of the victims, apart from the 66-year-old driver of the Nissan, were not disclosed in the available search results.
The 13-year-old and 7-year-old occupants of the Nissan were severely injured and taken to the hospital. Regrettably, no information about their current condition was provided.
