On the evening of July 14th, a single-vehicle accident occurred in Bergheim-Ahe, resulting in a Renault ending up in the Erft river. The incident, which took place around 8:15 PM on "In den Benden" street towards Ahe, has prompted an investigation by the Rhein-Erft-Kreis Police.

A witness reported seeing the Renault driving on "In den Benden" street from Quadrath-Ichendorf towards Ahe at approximately 20:15. The driver, who is reported to have fled the scene, was described as a person between 30 and 35 years old, approximately 165 to 170 cm tall, of stocky build, and having black hair. At the time of the accident, the driver was wearing a white top, dark pants, and dark reading glasses.

After a brief conversation with a witness, the fleeing driver is said to have walked towards the Grundschule am Schwarzwasser.
