Create Your Own Homemade Concrete Pumpkins

The project requires a few simple materials: fake pumpkins, FolkArt Shortie Brushes, FolkArt Brushed Metal Acrylic Paint in Rose Gold, a small paint brush, and of course, the FolkArt Painted Finishes in Concrete. This product comes with two different colours: a light concrete colour and a dark concrete colour.

To begin, apply a base coat of light concrete paint to the pumpkin using a Shortie Brush, dabbing the paint on instead of brushing. This textured paint gives the pumpkin a true concrete look once dry, with a textured appearance that resembles real concrete.

While the light concrete base coat is still wet, you can blend in the dark concrete colour according to your preference. This can be focused on creases for a more realistic effect, or applied all over for a bolder look. The amount of dark concrete colour used can be adjusted to suit your taste.

Once the pumpkin is completely dry, paint the stem with FolkArt Brushed Metal Acrylic Paint in Rose Gold. Depending on the pumpkin, two coats might be needed to fully cover the stem.
