Criminal activities in the Neckar-Odenwald district: fraudulent begging, costly overtaking, burglary of a carpentry, escape, and police helicopter chase following the burglary
In the Heilbronn district of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, several incidents have been reported over the past few days.
On Tuesday afternoon, an unknown woman was reported to have been begging aggressively for money at a Buchen hardware store parking lot. The woman, described as approximately 1.60 meters tall, around 30 to 35 years old, with black hair, claimed to be deaf and was collecting donations for a charity. However, she quickly fled when approached and did not identify herself. Anyone with information about the woman is asked to contact the Buchen police station at telephone number 06281 9040.
On the same day, a traffic accident occurred on the federal road B292 in Schefflenz due to an expensive overtaking maneuver by a BMW driver. The driver lost control of his vehicle on the wet road and overturned several times. The driver was slightly injured, and his car was towed away. The estimated material damage is around 20,000 EUR.
In a separate incident, between 5:30pm on Monday evening and 9am the next morning, burglars forced open several windows of a joinery in Carl-Benz-Straße in Buchen and entered the premises. Inside, all rooms were searched by the unknown persons, and at least one item was stolen. The police could not locate the burglar as they had already fled. The Mosbach police station has taken over the investigation and is asking for further witnesses and informants to contact them at 06261 8090.
Early on Tuesday morning, unknown individuals broke into a garden center in Neckarzimmern. The exact amount of material and theft damage is still under investigation.
In another hit-and-run incident, a pet supply store in Mosbach's Hauptstraße was the victim on Monday afternoon. The driver of a Hyundai returned to his car at around 3pm and found it damaged, likely from a reversing car. The damage to the victim's car is estimated to be around 2,000 EUR. The police in Mosbach are investigating the incident and are seeking witnesses.
