In the heart of Chemnitz, on August 28, 2025, an unusual incident unfolded at the DB INfraGO site on Glösaer Straße. The Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz received a report of a theft of signal cables, setting off a series of events that led to the arrest of two German men.
Upon arrival at the scene, the police found a bicycle, a backpack, a jacket, gardening tools, and a large quantity of stripped cable strands (approximately 50 kg). The perpetrators, aged 67 and 49, were subsequently apprehended.
The suspects were charged with aggravated theft and trespassing. They were held by DB INfraGO employees before the arrival of the police. Following the completion of police procedures, the men were released on bail.
