Gelsenkirchen Incident: Two Men Arrested in Connection with Theft

On Monday evening, July 20, 2025, at around 8:45 PM, a 43-year-old woman from Gelsenkirchen observed two men jiggling door handles on Florastraße. The men were later seen disappearing into a hallway on the same street.

The police were alerted to the incident, and upon arrival, they identified the two suspects as a 43-year-old woman from Gelsenkirchen and a 31-year-old man with no fixed address in the Federal Republic of Germany.

The investigation revealed that the 31-year-old man was likely involved in the theft of the items found on him. He was provisionally arrested, while the woman was taken to the station for questioning.

As the investigation unfolded, the two men were later seen emerging from a house on Florastraße. They were pushing an e-scooter, which was not seen with them before they entered the house. Stolen goods were found on the two men.

The police officers searched the suspects and questioned them on the scene. The 31-year-old man was found to have various tools, which could suggest his involvement in the theft.

The 43-year-old woman from Gelsenkirchen had reported the incident to the police earlier on the same day. She was released after questioning, but the investigation into the matter continues.

This incident serves as a reminder for the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. The police urge residents to secure their properties and ensure that valuable items are not left unattended.
