In a series of events, several prominent figures have weighed in on the controversial immigration policies proposed by the Reform Party. The party, whose spokesperson announced plans to deport 600,000 asylum seekers upon gaining power, has sparked a significant online debate.

Nigel Farage, a leading figure in the Reform Party, suggested that women and girls would not be deported back to countries like Sudan within the first five years of the Reform government. However, his comments followed statements from Reform Deputy Leader Richard Tice, who was open to forming a deportation deal with the Taliban, which could include women and children.

Popular TV personality Rylan Clark has also joined the conversation, expressing his views on ITV's This Morning. Clark criticised the way refugees are welcomed in the UK, stating that it's "absolutely insane" for asylum seekers to risk their lives to come to the UK. He compared the welcome given to refugees to providing them with an iPad, NHS access, meals, and a games room in a hotel.

Clark's comments did not go unchallenged. Drag Race star Bimini, who has been vocal about immigration issues, criticised Clark's remarks, stating that they fully support immigration and the right to seek asylum. Bimini emphasised that nobody is illegal and that conversations should be had with compassion and respect, not fear.

Clark, however, defended his views on Instagram, sharing a personal story of how doctors and nurses from other countries saved his mother's life when she fell ill earlier this year. He stated that these doctors and nurses are living great lives, paying into the tax system, and helping the country thrive.

Meanwhile, during the same debate, Clark criticised Rylan for his comments, stating that one can be pro-immigration and against illegal routes. Clark's comments have not been reported to have any direct connection to the Government's appeal to block the closure of an Epping asylum hotel or Kirstie Allsopp's criticisms of Rachel Reeves' budget plans.

As the conversation around immigration continues, it is clear that many voices are seeking to bring compassion and respect to the table, challenging the Reform Party's controversial proposals and advocating for a more humane approach to asylum seekers.
