Cross-examination of Goat Game participant responses

In an unexpected turn of events, Hellgate High School has lost the annual Golden Goat game to Sentinel High School, marking the first time in five years that they have not taken home the coveted trophy. The spirit competition, a much-anticipated event where various school basketball audiences compete for the best spirit, took place recently, and the outcome has sparked discussions among students.

The pre-party room was filled with nervous anxiety, Little Caesars pizza, and water, as students from both schools prepared for the competition. Most people in the room wore costumes, many of which were school-provided props, but there were also homemade costumes. Hellgate's students donned their traditional goat masks, while Sentinel's students dressed up as spies, embodying their chosen theme.

The competition itself was a close one, with the loss announced with a minimal difference in scores. Some believe Sentinel won due to their halftime show and a little bit of pity, while others argue that Hellgate could have done better at attracting a wider community and making the assembly more inclusive for all grades.

Kieran, a junior, criticized Sentinel's theme, stating that they were doing a terrible job at portraying spies since most people wore casual clothing like black leggings or jeans. On the other hand, some respondents felt that Sentinel's theme could have been more creative, while others thought it felt more suave. There is disagreement about the two themes, with most people preferring Hellgate's.

The mood in Hellgate after the game and the Goat Game was somber, with some claiming it was rigged. However, Loken Manham, the official student body treasurer, refuted these claims, stating that there was no judge bias, and there is a possibility that Hellgate can win and reclaim the Goat in the next competition.

The loss has sparked discussions about how Hellgate can prepare for the next competition. One sophomore thought that Hellgate could have done better at attracting a wider community and making the assembly more inclusive for all grades. The return of Gerty, a popular student and spirit leader, is anticipated for the next competition, which will not have the disadvantage of Hellgate having won for four previous years.

Despite the loss, the spirit of competition remains high, and students from both schools are already looking forward to the next Goat Game.
