On Saturday, a 36-year-old resident was caught shoplifting and resisted arrest. According to the police report, the man became increasingly belligerent, insulting the officers and gesturing aggressively in their faces. The man's drug test came back positive, and a stolen bank card was found in his wallet. In a separate incident on Friday evening, a man harassed people in the city center, brandishing a knife-like object. The man was taken into custody for threats and violation of weapons laws. The one-handed knife was found nearby and secured by the officers. The man was given a ban from the area.
On Saturday afternoon, a 73-year-old resident was taken into custody at a bakery on Theodor-Heuss-Ring for causing a scene, consuming alcohol in the store, refusing to leave, shouting at staff and customers, and striking at the police.
A 32-year-old woman from Hemer was taken into custody by the Circles Police Department on Saturday morning at a gas station on Dortmunder Street for causing a disturbance, refusing to leave, insulting and touching people, and allegedly mistreating a dog. The local authority was informed about the suspected animal cruelty involving the woman's dog. The woman faces charges of trespassing and resisting arrest.
Unknown individuals broke into office rooms on Piepenstock Street through a window overnight from Thursday to Friday, stealing several technical devices from a church institution. The criminal police have started their investigations regarding the burglary.
Between 4 PM Wednesday and 6:30 AM Thursday, unknown individuals attempted to force open a door at a chain company on Zollhaus Street, but the door held.
