Customs officials' actions toward Trump cause polls to be affected

In a series of recent polls, the approval rating of former President Donald Trump has seen a noticeable drop compared to previous months.

According to the Navigator Research poll conducted between the 3rd and 7th of April, Trump's approval rating stands at 44%, a decrease of 7 points compared to March and a more significant drop of 11 points compared to February. The poll surveyed 1,000 respondents.

Similarly, a Cygnal poll conducted between the 1st and 3rd of April, with 1,500 likely voters, shows 47% approval for Trump. However, the same poll indicates a disapproval rating of 51%, a consistent trend across several polls.

The Rasmussen Reports poll, while showing a slightly higher approval rating for Trump at 47%, also reflects a disapproval rating of 51%, mirroring the findings of the Cygnal and Navigator Research polls.

The declining approval ratings could have significant implications for the power dynamics between President Trump and Congress during the midterm elections. According to predictions, the Republican Party is likely to maintain or regain a majority in at least one chamber of the U.S. Congress. If the party manages to retain its majority, it could potentially impact Trump's influence in the political landscape.

It's important to note that these polls provide a snapshot of public opinion at a particular moment in time and can change as events unfold. Nonetheless, the consistent trend across multiple polls suggests a shift in public sentiment towards Trump.

In the Navigator Research poll, the net score, which is calculated by subtracting the disapproval rating from the approval rating, stands at -9 points, indicating more disapproval than approval for Trump. The same net score in the Cygnal poll is -4 points.

In conclusion, the latest polls indicate a decline in Donald Trump's approval rating, with disapproval ratings consistently outweighing approval ratings in several polls. These trends could have significant implications for the political landscape, particularly during the upcoming midterm elections.
