Cycling accident in Herne: Authorities seeking victim on a bicycle
On September 3rd, a 16-year-old resident of Herne was riding an E-scooter on Blücherstraße in the district of Herne-Horsthausen. The incident occurred around 2:30 PM, when the teenager attempted to merge onto the bike lane near house number 75. Unfortunately, the 16-year-old was struck by an unknown cyclist during the merge.
The Bochum Police are investigating the incident further, and have provided a public contact number for information about the accident: 0234 909-5206. The traffic division of Bochum Police has also requested the involved cyclist and any witnesses with information about the accident to contact them at the same number.
The involved cyclist is described as a man, approximately 30-35 years old, around 180 cm tall, slim, with a shaved head, unkempt teeth, wearing dark work clothing, and speaking fluent German. However, the Bochum Police have not yet released the identity of the cyclist, as he provided false personal information to authorities following the accident.
The unknown cyclist was not publicly identified; he was later arrested but gave false personal information. The Bochum Police have not yet released any information about potential charges or penalties for the involved cyclist.
The 16-year-old sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident and is recovering. The Bochum Police have not yet provided an update on the status of the investigation into the incident.
