Cyclist fatally struck by a truck in Freie Hansestadt Hannover

In the heart of Hannover, a tragic traffic accident occurred on Monday morning at the intersection of Ada-Lessing-Straße and Langenforther Straße. The incident involved a truck and a cyclist, with the latter, a 62-year-old man, sustaining severe injuries.

Upon arrival at the scene, a fire and rescue service unit from Fire Station 5, along with emergency services and a rescue helicopter, were dispatched to respond. A total of eight vehicles were part of the operation, with twenty-one personnel working tirelessly to attend to the situation.

The driver of the truck, a 56-year-old man, was also cared for by the fire service. Witnesses reported that the cyclist was run over by the truck. Upon arrival, the injured man was not trapped, allowing immediate medical treatment. After being treated, he was transported to a hospital in Hannover.

Despite the best efforts of the medical professionals, the man later died from his severe injuries at the hospital. The police took over the scene after the fire and rescue services had finished their work.
