In a sad turn of events, Mülheim has suffered its fourth traffic fatality of the year following a cycling accident in the city centre.

Last Thursday, August 28th, a 57-year-old cyclist passed away in the hospital after an accident that occurred on the Styrum Dam, near the city centre, on Monday, August 25th. The collision took place around 16:40 on the cycle and pedestrian path parallel to Hauskampstraße/Moritzstraße.

The accident involved three cyclists, with the 57-year-old victim and another cyclist of the same age suffering severe injuries. A third cyclist, aged 47, sustained minor injuries.

The accident scene was secured by the investigation team, who are still probing the circumstances surrounding the incident. It is reported that the collision occurred in a left curve on the Styrum Dam.

The cyclist who passed away in the hospital on August 28th was travelling towards the city centre at the time of the accident. Unfortunately, no publicly available information is available about the cyclist who had an accident on August 25 at 16:40 at Styrum-Talsperre and died in the hospital on August 28.
