In the heart of America, a unique organisation named Biking for Babies is making a significant impact. Founded in 2009 by a group of students from Franciscan University of Steubenville, this charitable initiative has been on a mission to strengthen the spiritual lives of its riders, spread the pro-life message, and raise awareness of the tangible aid pregnancy resource centres provide.

Amanda Nolan, a 30-something from the Boston area, is one such rider. She embarked on a challenging six-day, 600-mile bike ride to fundraise for pregnant women in need. Training for the ride and biking from Portland, Maine, to Philadelphia was no easy feat for the novice biker. However, Amanda found support from unexpected sources, as people appreciated the mission to help women make real choices.

The Mother of Life Center in Providence, Rhode Island, was among the centres that benefited from Amanda's efforts. Partnered with the centre, she made a significant difference through her support and actions. The Mother of Life Center uses the funds it receives from Biking for Babies for operational costs and to purchase more expensive items like strollers and car seats, in addition to essentials like onesies, diapers, and bottles.

Biking for Babies has been a beacon of hope for numerous pregnancy resource centres across the U.S. Since its inception, the organisation has raised a total of $2.03 million for 158 centres. Each rider's partner pregnancy centre receives an average of over $4,000.

The physical endurance demonstrated by the riders, including Amanda, is truly inspiring. On some days, they cycled long distances, such as 93 miles one day and 80 miles the next, demonstrating their resilience. Before embarking on their journey, the bikers receive spiritual and physical coaching to prepare them for the challenges ahead.

According to Richard Lafond, the Mother of Life Center's communications and development facilitator, Amanda Nolan has been an inspiration to their supporters. He states, "Biking for Babies provides a strong Christian witness."

As the bike ride comes to an end, Biking for Babies looks forward to recruiting more riders next year to support more pregnancy resource centres. The organisation's goal is clear: to make a difference in the lives of pregnant women and their families, one pedal stroke at a time.
