Dangerous Decree: The City Council Outlaws Swimming in the Rhine River Due to Potential Hazards

The city of Dormagen has announced a swimming ban in the Rhine, effective from August 31, 2025. This decision, based on an urgent call by the city council, has been made due to life-threatening currents and dangers in the river.

The ordinance, which will be published in the official gazette shortly before it comes into effect, prohibits swimming in more than knee-deep water within the city limits.
