Deadly Car Crashes Claim Lives of Young Women

On Wednesday, June 4, at around 12:15 PM, a tragic incident occurred in Hürth, Germany. A group of schoolchildren, comprising two classes, were walking along Frechener Straße towards Theresienhöhe on a green light. Unfortunately, the group was hit by a BMW driver who approached from the left on Sudetenstraße.

Investigations suggest that the 20-year-old BMW driver may have driven through a red light, causing the collision. The schoolchildren were part of a school group, and one of them, a 10-year-old girl, was severely injured in the accident.

The girl's condition deteriorated, and she passed away on Friday afternoon, June 6, in a clinic. The incident has led to a thorough investigation by the Rhein-Erft Circle Police, the Public Prosecutor's Office Cologne, and the Public Prosecutor's Office in Hürth.

The 20-year-old BMW driver is currently under investigation for negligent homicide in two cases. The further investigations of the traffic commission are ongoing.

The school group was travelling from Theresiastraße towards Theresienhöhe, and the location of the accident was not specified. The incident has been the subject of a press release, an addendum to one issued on June 5, 2025.
