Debris from a building's exterior crashing onto the sidewalk and a vehicle below
At around 5:30 PM yesterday, a fire incident occurred in our community. Firefighters swiftly responded to the scene, bringing with them a turntable ladder from the main fire and rescue station.
Upon arrival, they found that some boards had come loose on a roof overhang, and debris from the incident had hit a nearby car. The local authority initially struggled to reach the car's owner.
In the aftermath, the sidewalk in the affected area was cordoned off for safety. The firefighters temporarily secured the roof area to prevent further damage, and more debris was removed from the overhangs during the operation.
Thankfully, the owner of the car will not incur any costs due to the incident. The car was towed away to prevent further damage.
For the roof repair, a roofer is scheduled to address the damage on Friday, August 29. According to local regulations, if the building is under monument protection, the responsibility for the repair and reporting of significant damages lies with the local Lower Monument Protection Authority of the municipality or the Lower Saxony State Office for Monument Preservation.
Photos were taken at the scene, capturing the incident or the aftermath. The community expresses its relief that no one was injured in this incident and hopes for a swift resolution to the repairs.
