Decade-long Belt and Road Summit culminates in rounds of agreements, with Hong Kong looking towards additional phases of partnership
10th Belt and Road Summit Shapes a Shared Future in Hong Kong
The 10th Belt and Road Summit is set to take place on September 10-11 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Co-organised by the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), this year's summit continues a ten-year run of policy dialogue, business exchange, and investment matchmaking.
Since its inception in 2016, the Summit has facilitated over 5,400 business matching meetings and supported more than 2,000 investment projects across infrastructure, green development, finance, and technology. This year's summit, themed "Collaborate for Change • Shape a Shared Future", aims to shape a future through collaboration.
The summit features over 90 speakers from 18 Belt and Road economies, including participants from China, India, and Russia. In addition, international organizations and governments beyond the 18 Belt and Road economies will be in attendance. For instance, Khaled Al Khattaf, CEO of the Saudi Investment Promotion Authority from Saudi Arabia, a country not listed among the 18 Belt and Road economies, will attend the summit.
This year's Summit includes a roundtable on sustainable development, regional spotlights, a youth-oriented track, and sessions focused on signature projects. The current year's Summit also includes a series of activities across the city, which are not specified in the provided context.
