Decentralized Finance (DeFi) re-staking protocol, Bedrock, partners with Brevis, to empower Zero-Knowledge (ZK) reward systems

In a groundbreaking move, Matter Labs, a leading technology company, has integrated its Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) cryptographic technology into Bedrock DeFi's reward program. This partnership, announced today, marks a significant step forward in the DeFi landscape, addressing the opaque nature of many crypto reward programs.

Bedrock DeFi, a liquidity restaking protocol that supports multiple assets, enabling yield production of various tokens like BTC, ETH, and more, is now running a reward system that computes and distributes Bedrock's native tokens to users efficiently and securely. By leveraging Brevis' technology, Bedrock is relieving itself from heavy, costly computation, shifting it to a cost-efficient, verifiable off-chain environment, thanks to Brevis' Continuous Protocol Incentivization (CPI) framework and zkCoprocessor SDK.

The new reward program tracks, recognizes, and rewards user participation across Bedrock's DeFi ecosystem. It operates by utilising Brevis' zkCoprocessor SDK and CPI framework to ensure genuine user interactions and trustless reward distribution. This system is designed to overcome the challenges posed by conventional on-chain reward systems, which often face obstacles such as high transaction costs and sluggish confirmations.

On-chain smart contracts can't process large volumes of data without high costs and can't easily verify non-existence. Brevis, a ZK Omni-chain data attestation platform, addresses these issues by using ZK proof technology to ensure trustless and confidential-protecting data operations across multiple blockchains. This technology is instrumental in enabling Bedrock to run a completely verifiable on-chain staking system.

The Bedrock reward program, developed in collaboration with Brevis, has been launched on the Base mainnet, a Layer-2 network. Eligible users can claim and obtain their share of Bedrock's rewards once their interactions and activities are certified and validated through Brevis' ZKP technology. Off-chain spreadsheets or centralized backend functions, which often grapple with opaqueness, Single Points of Failure (SPOFs), and inaccuracies, are no longer required.

The partnership between Bedrock and Brevis aims to develop efficient cross-chain restaking infrastructure in the DeFi landscape. This infrastructure will enable Bedrock to build an effective and trustless cross-chain restaking infrastructure, addressing the needs of its users in a secure and transparent manner. The integration of Brevis' ZKP cryptography is set to revolutionise the way rewards are computed and distributed in the DeFi space, making it more accessible and user-friendly for all.
