In the small village of Oppersdorf, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the A93 road near Regenstauf. The incident, which took place around 14:20, involved two identified drivers and a third yet to be found.
The first driver, a 79-year-old individual, was operating a Mitsubishi. Witnesses reported erratic maneuvers by the elderly driver, including zigzagging in the village and continuing to drive erratically after turning left from Einhauser Street onto Kreisstraรe R15. The Mitsubishi scraped along the entire left side of another car, causing significant damage, including a severely dented bumper and a damaged side mirror.
The damage to the other car is estimated at 3,000 euros. In an attempt to avoid the Mitsubishi, an oncoming driver pulled onto the sidewalk, but a collision still occurred. The elderly driver ended up on the wrong side of the road, narrowly avoiding several oncoming vehicles.
Thankfully, no one was injured in the collision. However, the Mitsubishi's driver ended up in the right-hand ditch and damaged a traffic sign. The police confiscated the man's driver's license and are investigating the incident at the Regenstauf police station.
The police are also seeking a witness from an unknown oncoming vehicle involved in the incident. No further details about the unknown oncoming vehicle have been provided.
The third driver involved in the traffic accident, who is still being sought by the police, has not been named or specifically identified in the available sources. The Regenstauf police station is urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident to contact them at 09402/9311-0.
The police are working diligently to uncover all details of the accident and ensure the safety of the community. The public's cooperation is greatly appreciated as they continue their investigation.
