In the heart of the city, the City Youth Office is working tirelessly to address a broad range of challenges faced by families, children, and young people. From promoting youth development to protecting them from dangers, the office is at the forefront of ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for the city's youth.

Recently, Corinna Müller, the new head of the City Youth Office, welcomed 35 specialists to a career day, aimed at strengthening cooperation with partners of the stationary and ambulatory free youth welfare services. The day was filled with workshops and discussions, providing an opportunity for specialists to exchange views, give feedback on existing cooperations, and learn about each other's individual tasks.

Müller emphasized the importance of partnership cooperation for successful work, stating that close and trusting cooperation between youth offices and institutions of free youth welfare is crucial for the future success of youth welfare. She also highlighted the challenges that children and youth welfare are currently facing, including the shortage of skilled workers, constant changes in work, and new tasks brought by reforms and changes in the law.

The 2021 enacted Children and Youth Strengthening Act (KJSG) has brought the inclusive orientation of youth welfare into societal and political debates. Müller expressed her belief that continuous cooperation on an equal footing will benefit all who need support in youth welfare.

The participants agreed that this one-time meeting will not be the last, and daily good cooperation should be further expanded and deepened through such formats. Both youth offices and institutions of free youth welfare must form a strong axis to master the tasks of youth welfare.

The challenges that families and young people are currently facing are not limited to the professional sphere. The Corona pandemic, weakening social cohesion, feeling of "being left behind", and financial hardship are among the challenges that they are currently grappling with. Müller stressed that successful cooperation is facilitated by specialists knowing each other, having a common understanding of social work, and exchanging professional knowledge.

In conclusion, the City Youth Office is committed to addressing the challenges faced by families, children, and young people in the city. Through partnerships, cooperation, and a focus on continuous learning, the office aims to ensure a brighter future for the city's youth.
