Deepening Strategic Cooperation Between Vietnam and China Agreed Upon

In a significant development, Vietnam and China have committed to enhancing their Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership and the creation of a Vietnam-China Community with a shared future. This pledge was made during a meeting in Beijing on Thursday.

President Cuong of Vietnam emphasised the need for high-quality investment and balanced, sustainable development in economic, trade, education, and tourism cooperation. He also proposed intensifying exchanges in diplomacy, defense, and security.

The leaders of both nations exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern, agreeing to maintain coordination and cooperation at multilateral forums and promote peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

Regarding sea-related issues, both sides were urged to control and handle differences while respecting each other's legitimate and legal interests in accordance with international law and UNCLOS 1982.

General Secretary and President Xi of China agreed to promote high-level and all-level exchanges, share experiences in Party building and national governance, and effectively organise the meetings of the Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation and the 3+3 strategic dialogue mechanism.

Greater effectiveness is sought in theory research exchanges and practical cooperation in science and technology, innovation, high-quality human resources training, and strategic transport connectivity. To this end, the first meeting of the Joint Committee for Railway Cooperation is suggested to be organised soon.

Both sides are encouraged to increase communications on their friendship and organise more people-to-people exchanges. The discussions also included building a shared future community between the two countries.

This strengthening of ties between Vietnam and China is a testament to the growing relationship between the two nations and their commitment to peace, cooperation, and mutual respect. The future of their partnership looks promising as they continue to work together for the betterment of their peoples and the world.
