The city of Krasnodar, Russia, and Grodno, Belarus, have been forging ahead with joint work in various sectors, including culture, education, youth policy, tourism, and sports. This progress was evident during the recent visit of a Krasnodar delegation, led by Deputy Mayor Anna Leonova, to Grodno.
The visit, which coincided with Grodno's Day of the City, saw the Krasnodar delegation paying respects at the monument to the soldiers of the Great Patriotic War. The delegation also took the opportunity to visit significant educational institutions such as Grodno Gymnasium No. 10 named after Metropolitan Filaret, Yanka Kupala University, and the regional Palace of Children and Youth Creativity.
Anna Leonova, during her visit, emphasised the progress made in the cooperation between Krasnodar and Grodno in the fields mentioned above. She also presented a greeting address from Krasnodar Mayor Eugene Naumov and Krasnodar City Duma Chairperson Vera Galushko to Grodno Executive Committee Chairperson Andrei Khmel.
The proposed initiatives for further collaboration include school exchange programmes, participation of Krasnodar creative groups in the XV Republican Festival of National Cultures in 2026, and joint exhibitions and concerts. A roadmap for the further strengthening of partnership ties between Krasnodar and Grodno is planned to be drawn up by the end of the year.
