Department store incident involving Lübke Moisling under investigation, authorities seek potential witnesses for further details

In the heart of Moisling, Lübeck, a series of disturbing incidents have taken place at a local non-profit department store on August-Bebel-Straße.

On Friday, August 29, 2025, an unidentified customer allegedly threatened and insulted an employee and another customer in the store. The police are still investigating this incident and are seeking any witnesses, particularly the customer involved.

Fast forward to Monday, a 30-year-old Syrian man found himself in another altercation at the same store. He was upset about a piece of furniture he had ordered, which was no longer available. Despite the store's attempt to refund his deposit, he refused and insulted a female employee in a sexist manner.

Matters escalated when another customer tried to intervene, only to be threatened by the Syrian man. Police officers from the Moisling police station were promptly called to the scene.

The Syrian man was subsequently banned from the store for a year, but he returned, displaying aggressive behaviour once more. The 54-year-old employee who had previously experienced problems with the man was afraid to deliver ordered goods to him due to his verbal aggression.

The identity of the customer who was threatened on Friday remains unknown. The Lübeck Police Department is urging anyone with information to contact them at 0451/1310. For inquiries, contact the Lübeck Police Department Press Office, Svenja Pries at 49 (0) 451/131-2004, or send an email to [email protected]. Fax inquiries can be sent to + 49 (0) 431/988-6-342901.

The incident on Monday took place around 11:20 a.m. at the Moisling police station. No further details about the identity or location of the threatened customer from Friday have been provided.

The Lübeck Police Department is currently looking for the person involved in the incident that occurred on Friday. They remind the public that such behaviour will not be tolerated and encourage anyone with information to come forward.
