Destroyed high-rise buildings in Gaza city now number 50, according to Netanyahu
In the ongoing Middle East crisis, tensions have risen dramatically in recent weeks, with military operations and attacks taking place in various regions.
In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli military has been conducting operations since the beginning of the year, targeting terrorist organizations such as Hamas. This has led to a mass exodus of residents, with many fleeing the refugee camp in Jenin due to the military operations. The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that two 14-year-olds were killed by Israeli soldiers' gunfire in Jenin.
Hamas has been accused by the Israeli army of using civilian infrastructure and civilians as human shields, a claim that has been a point of contention in the conflict. In a retaliatory attack, Hamas terrorists attacked an Israeli camp in a suburb of the city of Gaza, resulting in the death of four Israeli soldiers.
Israel's military has also been active in the northern West Bank area, with extensive military attacks, including airstrikes and tank incursions, particularly targeting Gaza City and northern Gaza. Israel carried out airstrikes against Hamas representatives in Qatar, marking a significant escalation in the conflict.
The Israeli army has already destroyed 50 high-rise buildings in Gaza in two days, according to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and there have been reports of a total of 59 Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks throughout the Gaza Strip on Monday.
In response to the violence, US President Donald Trump proposed the release of all living hostages in the Gaza Strip within the first 48 hours after the implementation of a ceasefire. Negotiations on the conditions for an end to the war are to begin after the start of the ceasefire.
Meanwhile, in Lebanon, Israel's military has been carrying out air strikes against Hezbollah positions, resulting in the death of five members of the pro-Iranian militant group. The Israeli government demands a complete disarmament of Hezbollah, while the militant group demands a complete withdrawal of Israeli soldiers from the region.
Reports of civilian casualties in large numbers have been frequent, causing concern and outrage among human rights groups. In an effort to de-escalate the situation, Netanyahu called on the residents of Gaza to flee, while Channel 12 reported that Hamas needs more time to retrieve the dead abductees in exchange for the handover of hostages.
Recent estimates suggest that around 100,000 Palestinians have left Gaza, while the number of refugees in Jenin continues to grow. The conflict between Israel and Palestine, as well as Israel and Hezbollah, shows no signs of abating, with both sides accusing each other of violating ceasefires and continuing to engage in military operations. The future of the region remains uncertain as negotiations continue to take place.
