Multiple Incidents Reported Across the Region

In a series of events that unfolded over the past few days, several traffic accidents and incidents have occurred in the surrounding areas, causing injuries, property damage, and investigations.

Serious Traffic Accident on B10 near Esslingen

On Wednesday morning, a traffic accident on the B10 near Esslingen resulted in severe injuries to a road user and significant property damage. An elderly woman, aged 82, was driving a Fiat Sedici and collided at low speed with the rear corner of a parked Audi A1. The impact caused the Audi to be pushed onto another parked car, a BMW 1 Series. Both vehicles remained driveable after the accident, but the woman had to be rescued by the fire department and was taken to the hospital for further treatment. The older man, aged 38, allegedly injured the younger man, aged 27, during the incident.

Later on Wednesday afternoon, a motorcyclist, aged 21, suffered serious injuries in a traffic accident on the same road. Both lanes of the B10 were closed from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM for investigation and cleanup. The estimated damage to the vehicles is around 19,000 euros.

Fire Incident in Metzingen

On Wednesday morning, a fire broke out in a parked Fiat Sedici on the B312 near Rommelsbach Bridge in Metzingen. The fire spread to the ventilation system, but employees of a nearby company managed to extinguish most of the fire before the arrival of the fire department. The fire department then fully extinguished the ventilation system. The fire caused approximately 35,000 euros worth of damage and injured several people.

Incident in Wendlingen

DUI and Resisting Arrest Charges

On Wednesday, a 44-year-old was charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest in Lichtenstein. A 42-year-old was charged with the same offenses in Unterhausen, Lichtenstein. In a separate incident, a heavily intoxicated 68-year-old woman was driving a Toyota on the Reutlingen Straße when she pulled the handbrake and revved the engine to such high RPMs that the car started burning. After a blood test, her driver's license was confiscated.

Other Incidents

In other incidents, a motorcyclist was stopped by police in Pfullingen for riding without a helmet. Unknown individuals damaged a company building in Burgstraße, Reutlingen, causing several thousand euros worth of damage. A Peugeot motorcycle was stolen from Bismarckstraße, Reutlingen, with a black license plate 581RNB. The search results do not provide information about the identity of the person who stole the motorcycle.

A gas leak at the Auingen industrial park in Münsingen led to the evacuation of multiple stores and the treatment of one woman. The leak is believed to have been caused by a technical malfunction. The cordoned-off area at the industrial park was reopened after further checks by the fire department.

On Thursday morning, a dispute between two residents occurred in Unterensingen, resulting in one man allegedly injuring another with a knife. The older man, aged 61, driving a Renault box truck veered off the road and collided with an illegally parked tractor-trailer, causing the 61-year-old to sustain severe injuries. The 61-year-old had to be towed away, and the extent of the damage is still being determined.
