Detected illicit substance: cocaine discovered during routine traffic check
In a series of events that unfolded in the city of Duisburg, two young men found themselves in legal trouble following separate incidents involving drugs, weapons, and driving under the influence.
The first incident involved a 21-year-old driver who was suspected of driving under the influence of intoxicating substances. According to reports, the driver was taken to the police station for a blood sample to be taken, after testing positive for amphetamines during a routine drug test. However, no suspicious items were found on the driver or the other occupant during the search.
A separate investigation led to the discovery of a Mitsubishi, which was subsequently searched by the police. During the search, officers found a 24-year-old individual in possession of cannabis and cash. A more thorough search of the vehicle revealed a dagger at the seat where the suspect had been sitting, as well as additional quantities of cannabis, several bags of cocaine, and another dagger.
The Public Prosecutor's Office in Duisburg ordered the searches, and the quantities of cannabis and cash found on the 24-year-old are typical of drug dealing. As a result, the suspect now faces criminal charges, while the 21-year-old driver is also expected to face charges for driving under the influence.
The 19-year-old suspect, who was found with cannabis, cocaine, and an additional knife by police during their investigation, has been taken into custody and is currently in pretrial detention. Everything discovered during the searches was seized by the officers.
The incidents serve as a reminder of the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety of the public. The investigation is still ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
