Digital art platform Azuki deploys new NFT collection on OpenSea, aiming to fund the creation of the animated movie "Mizuki"
In an exciting development, digital art brand Azuki has launched a new initiative on OpenSea, titled "Azuki Mizuki Anime Shorts." This project aims to generate income for the audiovisual production of the short film Mizuki and support its creators.
The collection, inspired by the original short film Mizuki, maintains the informal style that characterises Azuki, blending crypto-pop language and otaku culture. Each non-fungible token (NFT) in the collection is based on the ERC-1155 standard and is available for 0.0014 ETH, with no limits per wallet or barriers like whitelists.
Azuki's project team has been exploring dynamics such as avatar customization, gamified experiences, and now, financing audiovisual content. The original name of the anime short film NFT collection developed by Azuki in collaboration with OpenSea is "The Garden."
The sale of the Mizuki Anime Shorts NFTs could redefine how animated content is financed and distributed on decentralized platforms. By purchasing an NFT, collectors become direct patrons of digital art, driving narratives and supporting creative processes.
This project aligns with the principles of efficiency and scalability that the Web3 ecosystem seeks. It is divided into two stages: an initial edition open for a week, followed by a common edition that will remain valid for six months.
Azuki's growth has been meteoric, rapidly positioning itself among the projects with the highest transaction volume in NFT markets. Its appeal lies in its graphics inspired by anime and a carefully curated aesthetic. However, the project faced criticism for its previous collection "Elemental Beans" regarding the lack of originality in the pieces revealed, leading to tension within the community.
Despite this, Azuki's project reinforces its focus on the decentralized funding of creative projects, especially in the field of animation. The sale of the Mizuki Anime Shorts NFTs marks a new step in Azuki's evolution, positioning itself as a transmedia brand.
Azuki currently maintains a market capitalization of over $82 million. The prolonged and unrestricted distribution aims to facilitate community support and encourage spontaneous participation. This new initiative, Mizuki Anime Shorts, is a step in the evolution of the project, showcasing a convergence between digital art, storytelling, and Web3 mechanics.
