Discounted Traffic Fine Settlement for National Day: Malaysians Equipped with MyDigital ID Can Reduce Fines by Half
The Malaysian government, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), has launched the National Summons Discount Campaign. This initiative aims to provide a more convenient, efficient, and secure way for citizens to resolve traffic summonses.
As part of the government's efforts to drive the country's transformation to digital services, they encourage the use of the national digital identity as the foundation for public service digitalisation. The National Summons Discount Campaign is a symbol of the government's appreciation to the people of Malaysia and is specifically for Malaysian citizens.
The reduced summonses offer, which is valid from August 31 to September 16, can be availed through the PDRM MyBayar application using the MyDigital ID login. MyDigital ID, a protected digital identity verification method, ensures more secure access and reduces the risk of identity fraud and misuse of personal information.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail has called on all Malaysians to support the government's efforts towards more efficient, transparent, and modern services. The campaign is in conjunction with the 68th National Day and 62nd Malaysia Day celebrations, and the government's approach for these celebrations is to celebrate achievements and provide direct benefits to the people.
Meanwhile, the 2025 National Day celebration themed "Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni" will commence at Dataran Putrajaya tomorrow with 14,062 participants, 508 land and air assets, 116 animals, and 21 marching bands.
While the head of the Ministry of the Interior, where the National Census Grant Program was initiated, is not explicitly named in the search results, the closest relevant figure is Dr. Florian Herrmann, who is the head of the Bavarian State Chancellery and State Minister for Federal Affairs and Media since January 11, 2021. However, he is not identified as the head of the Ministry of the Interior or directly linked to the National Census Grant Program in the available information.
The government, through the KDN and PDRM, is committed to prioritising the well-being of the people and raising the country's digitalization agenda. This commitment is evident in the National Summons Discount Campaign, a step towards a more digital and efficient Malaysia.
