In the heart of Wuppertal, the Literature House is set to host an exciting event, bringing together acclaimed authors and a captivating character from a recent novel.

Wolfgang Schiffer, a renowned author and editor residing in Cologne and Prague, will be presenting his latest work, a poetry collection titled "I Listen to the Rain". This collection is a reflection of Schiffer's observations, childhood memories, and contemplations on powerlessness in the face of war and violence. Schiffer is also known for his translations of Icelandic literature, adding a unique international flavour to the event.

Joining Schiffer is Emily Marie Lara, the author of the new release "Nowhere Heart Land". Lara, who hails from an unknown location, will be present to discuss her novel, which tells the story of Rosa, a character in her late twenties who is plagued by self-doubt and haunted by her past as a boarding school student. Rosa embarks on a journey from London to Wuppertal, making her a fitting guest for the event.

"Nowhere Heart Land" is narrated by Rosa herself, offering a deeply personal account of her struggles and journey. The novel explores themes of independence, self-discovery, and overcoming past traumas, resonating with many readers.

It's important to note that this event is not related to the novels "Days of Glass" by Dorothee Krings or "Nowhere Heart Land" by Emily Marie Lara. However, it's worth mentioning that Dorothee Krings, a resident of Düsseldorf and editor at the Rheinische Post, has written and published her debut novel titled "Days of Glass". Set in the year 1901, this novel tells the story of two women from different backgrounds who strive to live independently despite societal conventions.

The event is in cooperation with "Insel", a cooperative partner, and funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Stefan Zarges will host the event, promising an engaging and insightful discussion.

Whether you're a literature enthusiast, a fan of Schiffer's work, or simply intrigued by the character of Rosa, this event promises to be an enriching experience. Mark your calendars and join us at the Wuppertal Literature House for an evening of literature and discussion.
