Disruption in Rail Service: ICE Vehicles Targeted by Stones; Federal Police Under Investigation for Potentially Hazardous Disruption of Rail Transport in BPOL NRW

The Federal Police are currently investigating an incident that occurred on an ICE train shortly after its departure from Hamm Central Station around midnight on April 29.

According to the Bundespolizei, four windows of the train were damaged as a result of unknown individuals throwing stones. Fortunately, no passengers were injured.

The exact location of the incident is not specified, but it is believed to have occurred along the railway track between Hamm Central Station and Hamm-Heessen. The Federal Police are appealing to witnesses who may have seen suspicious persons in the area at the time to contact them on 0251-974370.

Immediately after the incident, the train staff temporarily patched the damaged windows during a stop at Gütersloh station. At Bielefeld Central Station, passengers had to disembark and continue their journey to Hannover by bus.
