District Announcements from Vechta: Official Statements Revealed
In a series of unfortunate events that took place on October 8, 2024, two traffic accidents occurred in the towns of Lohne and Dinklage, Germany.
The first traffic accident took place on Sanderstraße towards Maërschendorf. A 25-year-old man from Dinklage was slightly injured in the incident. Meanwhile, on Dinklager Landstraße, a 47-year-old woman from Dinklage was involved in a separate accident. An 82-year-old man from Lohne, who was riding a Pedelec, was also slightly injured in a different incident on the same road.
Hendrik Vieth, the head of the Cloppenburg/Vechta police inspection, is responsible for investigating these events. Vieth has been in the role for several months as of September 2025.
On the same day, at 15:39, a waste bin caught fire at the church on Dorfstraße in Cloppenburg/Vechta. The fire was promptly extinguished by the voluntary fire brigade Rechterfeld. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Between October 3 and October 8, 2024, unknown persons damaged several window panes of an empty building on Dinklager Straße in Lohne. The estimated damage to the building is 3,000.00 euros. In a separate incident on October 8, 2024, at 08:50, an 82-year-old man from Lohne was slightly injured in a traffic accident on Sanderstraße towards Maërschendorf. A 62-year-old man from Steinfeld was driving a tractor on Goethestraße at the time of the incident.
As the investigations continue, the community is asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the local authorities.
