District of Soest Announces New Aappointment: Siggi Wrede Takes Role as District Manager / Premiership of the Soest County Team

The historic town of Soest celebrated its 50th anniversary on May 18th, but the festivities were marked by significant changes within the district's firefighter bands.

Stefan Huetschenschmidt, the long-standing leader of the Firefighter Band Moehnesee-Bruellingsen, has stepped down from his position due to increased involvement in fire service duties at the district level. Huetschenschmidt, who has been an active member of the band since 1978, will continue to serve as deputy district leader and treasurer.

Replacing Huetschenschmidt as the district leader is Siggi Wrede from the Firefighter Band Ense-Hueningen. Wrede, who has been an active member of his band since 1978, brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role.

Michael Berg from the Firefighter Band Neuengeseke will continue as the third in charge and treasurer, ensuring continuity in the district's financial and administrative affairs.

Thomas Wienecke remains the District Fire Chief, overseeing the overall operations of the fire departments and their musical units. Eva Irrgang, the District Administrator, will continue to manage the administrative aspects of the district.

In a unique twist, the musical units of the fire departments in Soest exchanged their leaders, with Wrede taking over from Huetschenschmidt and Berg maintaining his position. This move is aimed at fostering collaboration and unity among the bands.

The newly formed district band of the fire departments in Soest made its first appearance at the district anniversary, showcasing the combined talent and spirit of the individual bands.

As for the new deputy district fire chief of the Feuerwehrorchester Möhnesee-Brüllingsen, a successor has yet to be publicly specified.

Despite these changes, the Soest firefighter bands remain committed to their mission of providing entertainment and promoting the spirit of camaraderie within the fire service. The changes are expected to strengthen the bands' unity and enhance their performance, ensuring that the Soest district continues to celebrate with music and joy for many years to come.
