In a tragic turn of events, the Metropolitan Area of Monterrey, Mexico, experienced a day of extreme violence on June 26. The Nuevo León State Prosecutor's Office took charge of investigations surrounding the series of violent attacks and suspicion of drug trafficking that occurred around Morones Prieto Avenue and Jiménez Street.

The day's first incident occurred at 1:00 p.m. on Morones Prieto Avenue in San Pedro, where two lives were cruelly taken in an attack. Just hours later, a man was killed and another injured by firearm projectiles in the Atoyac de Álvarez neighborhood in Guadalupe.

The violence continued in the Lucio Blanco neighborhood, where an incident on Jiménez Street left a 30-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man dead. Meanwhile, an attack in the San Bernabé XII neighborhood of Monterrey left three dead and two wounded. Preliminary investigations suggest that the address involved was a suspected drug sales point.

An armed attack on a car dealership in Monterrey claimed four more lives, with two vehicles also engulfed in flames. In the Nuevo San Rafael neighborhood in Guadalupe, a lifeless woman with several gunshot wounds was discovered inside a home.

Sadly, the violence did not end there. A 45-year-old man was brutally murdered in the La Morita community in the municipality of Montemorelos.

Amidst the chaos, there was a glimmer of hope. An American woman who had been missing for 28 years in Texas was found in Monterrey.

However, the day's most tragic event occurred in Monterrey, where a woman fell to her death from the 14th floor of a hotel.

These incidents disrupted traffic in the city, as Morones Prieto Avenue, which runs from Santa Catarina to Monterrey, was a major artery.

In a significant development, José Luis Sánchez Valencia, known as "El Chalamán," was arrested in Colima in connection with the ongoing investigations.

The Metropolitan Area of Monterrey is left reeling from this day of unimaginable loss. The authorities are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice and restore peace to the city.
