DK, the popular gaming platform, broadens its player-versus-player poker options in Pennsylvania
Michigan currently holds the largest market share of online poker due to its membership in the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA). Now, Pennsylvania is poised to join the agreement, potentially regaining the number one spot.
Jason March, Vice President of iGaming Marketing and Operations at DraftKings, announced that they are thrilled to expand their Electric Poker offerings to Pennsylvania. Electric Poker is DraftKings' take on the popular Jackpot Sit & Go format, and it first appeared in the DraftKings app for users in Michigan in August.
The expansion comes two months after its initial test launch. In Electric Poker, three players play at a table where the prize is randomized. The game forces all players all-in after a certain period of time has elapsed, adding an exciting twist to the traditional poker experience.
The game offers four buy-in levels, ranging from $1 to $25, and the potential prize can be thousands of times the buy-in. The jackpot can reach up to 10,000x the buy-in, making it an attractive option for poker enthusiasts.
To play Electric Poker in Pennsylvania, players need the latest version of the DraftKings sportsbook or casino app, registration in Pennsylvania, and physical presence in the state. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, who has been serving since 2023, has instructed lawmakers to lay the groundwork for the state to join the MSIGA.
If Pennsylvania joins the MSIGA, it could become the largest state in the agreement, potentially regaining the number one spot for online poker market share. This move could significantly boost the online poker industry in the state, providing residents with a best-in-class online poker experience.
DraftKings' expansion into Pennsylvania marks a significant step in the company's growth in the online poker market. With its exciting gameplay and potential for high winnings, Electric Poker is set to be a popular choice among Pennsylvania poker players. The company's Vice President, Jason March, expressed his excitement about the expansion, stating that they are thrilled to bring Electric Poker to Pennsylvania.
