In the peaceful town of Gerolfingen, located within the district of Ansbach in the region of Middle Franconia, a tragic incident took place. A 44-year-old woman found herself in a harrowing situation when a dog attacked her flock of chickens and a sheep.
The dog, whose owner is a 65-year-old neighbour of the woman, managed to escape its enclosure and wreaked havoc on the farm. The attack resulted in the deaths of five animals - four chickens and a sheep. Four more sheep were partially severely injured in the same incident.
The woman quickly reacted, managing to lock the dog up on the spot. The police were alerted to the incident and reported the dog attack and the injuries to the sheep. Despite their best efforts, the police could not initially determine how the dog had escaped.
The owner of the dog, who lost his pet in Gerolfingen and subsequently attacked several animals, has not been publicly named. The authorities have confirmed that the dog's owner will now have to pay for the value of the killed animals.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and the need to keep pets securely confined to prevent such tragedies from occurring. The police continue to investigate the incident to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to prevent such incidents from happening again.
