Bundesliga: Thrilling Draw Between FC St. Pauli and Borussia Dortmund

In a nail-biting opening match of the new Bundesliga season, Borussia Dortmund and FC St. Pauli played out a dramatic 3-3 draw.

At halftime, Dortmund held a narrow 1-0 lead, thanks to Guirassy's goal in the 35th minute. However, the second half was a different story.

Niko Kovač's Dortmund extended their lead in the 67th minute when their captain, Anton, scored a deflected goal off Wahl. But St. Pauli refused to back down.

In the 50th minute, Hountondji equalized for St. Pauli from a Sinani cross. The home team continued to push and were rewarded in the 86th minute when Sinani converted a penalty, following Mane's professional foul on Ceesay.

Dortmund had opportunities to regain the lead, with Guirassy and Gross both denied by the keeper. However, they had to rue two unnecessary late goals conceded.

Substitute Brandt scored a goal for Dortmund in the 74th minute, but it wasn't enough to secure a win. The final score remained 3-3, a result that both teams could be pleased with.

St. Pauli, in particular, can be satisfied with a well-deserved late point in the match, having come back from behind twice. The draw marks a promising start for the underdogs in the new season.

The match was not without its dramatic moments, with Mane receiving a red card in the 86th minute for his professional foul. Despite the setback, Dortmund will look to bounce back in their next fixture.
