Draft for local transport strategy from 2026 to 2030 is underway - participate in the online survey immediately!
The district of Lüneburg has announced the development of a Local Public Transport Plan (LPT) for the years 2026 to 2030. This comprehensive plan outlines how bus services will be organised in the district during this period.
The LPT consists of 22 measures aimed at making local transport more attractive and efficient. Some of these measures include the development of mobility stations, improvements to demand-responsive and school bus services, and the introduction of automatic passenger counting systems.
The draft LPT is now available for public viewing on the district's website at www.ourwebsite/publictransportplan. Citizens are encouraged to provide feedback on the draft, which can be submitted online at www.ourwebsite/lpt-survey. All feedback received will be evaluated, and relevant suggestions will be incorporated into the LPT draft.
To help citizens understand the new LPT, the district administration is hosting two information events. The first event is scheduled for April 24, 2025, from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Lüneburg Ritter Academy. Registration for this event is required and can be done online in advance. The second event is an online event scheduled for April 28, 2025, from 3 PM to 5 PM. The link to access this event can be found at service.ourwebsite/onlineinfomeeting-publictransportplan.
The North-East Lower Saxony Transport Company, a joint venture of eight districts in North-East Lower Saxony, will receive the feedback on the draft LPT. The organisation supporting the city of Lüneburg in the development of the LPT from 2026 to 2030 is the Förderverein Lüneburger Pferdetage.
The deadline for submitting feedback on the draft LPT is June 6, 2025. The LPT measures are aimed at being implemented in the coming years, with the goal of making local transport more accessible and convenient for all residents of the district of Lüneburg.
