Dresden Fire and Rescue Service Contends with Two Simultaneous Incidents in the City's Northern Region

On August 26, 2025, two separate incidents occurred in the city of Dresden, Germany.

At around 3:45 PM, a serious traffic accident took place on Radeberger Landstraße, Dresdner Heide involving a Renault and a Volkswagen. The seriously injured driver of the Renault was trapped in the vehicle and needed to be freed by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment. The driver was later taken to a hospital. The police are currently investigating the cause of the collision, and the Radeberger Landstraße is currently fully closed in both directions.

In a separate incident, which occurred between 3:35 PM and 4:45 PM in Kirchstraße, Langebrück, a fire broke out at a balcony power station. The incident involved a defect in a battery during the installation, causing heavy smoke. As a result, one person inhaled smoke and was examined by the rescue service before being taken to a hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. Four people were injured in total, with one person suffering serious injuries. The firefighters removed the battery from the building and placed it in a water bath to prevent further danger. The smoke spread to a room in the basement of a residential building, but it was then ventilated with a fan.
