In Zirndorf, Middle Franconia, a 43-year-old man found himself in hot water on Friday evening, August 29, 2025. The man, from the Langenzenner city area, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The incident began when the man was driving a Mercedes, which was observed weaving erratically and colliding with a curb. The man, seemingly unfazed by the collision, continued driving, causing further damage to a boundary post and a wooden gate.

One of the Mercedes' tires was flat due to the collision, but the man didn't stop. He eventually parked his car and left on foot, setting off in a direction away from the scene of the accident.

However, the man's actions did not go unnoticed. A witness, concerned about the erratic driving and the subsequent fleeing on foot, contacted the police control center. The police were quick to respond, and the man was apprehended shortly after.

Initial investigations suggest that the man was significantly over the legal alcohol limit of 1.5 per mille. A blood test was ordered by the officers, and the suspect's driver's license and car keys were secured.

The suspect will now face charges for suspected drunk driving and leaving the scene of an accident. The charges are related to the incident that occurred in Zirndorf, Middle Franconia, on August 29, 2025.
