Driving Under Influence in Freiburg: Motorist Slumbers Off at a Traffic Signal (While Inebriated)
In the early hours of Sunday, December 1, 2024, a drunk driving incident took place near Schwabentorbrucke in Freiburg.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:40 AM when a driver, reported to be asleep at the wheel, was awakened by a patrol car crew. The driver missed several green light cycles, causing a strong smell of alcohol to be detected inside the vehicle.
A subsequent breathalyzer test revealed that the driver's blood alcohol level was approximately 1.4 promille. The driver was subsequently arrested by the police.
