In the treacherous terrain of the Peak of Victory in Kyrgyzstan, Russian mountaineer Natalia Nagovitsyna has been stranded for nine days after sustaining an injury on August 16, 2021.

Rescuers have been attempting to reach Nagovitsyna since August 19, but unfavourable weather conditions have posed significant challenges. Despite reaching her location and supplying food and essentials, evacuation has proved impossible due to the dangerous terrain.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the situation, and search and rescue operations are currently ongoing.

On August 16, an emergency helicopter was dispatched to evacuate Nagovitsyna, but it was forced to make an emergency landing near the incident site due to turbulence. The video showing Nagovitsyna was taken around the same time by a drone, and the small dot visible in the footage was confirmed to be Nagovitsyna by Channel 5.

Nagovitsyna's relatives have been appealing for help, and journalists have reported that the footage taken by a drone confirms that she is alive. However, no specific details about her injury or the exact date of the next evacuation attempt have been provided.

Since the tragedy, one rescuer has lost his life, and the chances of Nagovitsyna's survival are considered very low or she is presumed deceased. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not confirmed these reports.

The footage showing Nagovitsyna was published by journalists, and Channel 5's previous report confirmed that the small dot in the drone footage is indeed Nagovitsyna.

The resilience of Nagovitsyna and the efforts of the rescuers continue to capture the attention of the world, as we all hope for a successful outcome in this challenging situation.
