Drug shop "Chemical Revolution," Germany's largest online narcotics marketplace, to be shut down; suspects behind the operation arrested at 11 o'clock press conference by the BKA.
The Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in Wiesbaden, in collaboration with the French Criminal Police, has successfully shut down an online drug store known as "Chemical Revolution." This operation, which has been in the works for some time, resulted in the seizure of a substantial amount of illicit substances.
The main suspect, a 26-year-old from the district of Munich who had his last residence on Mallorca/Spain, is accused of setting up and operating the online drug store. He was arrested upon his re-entry into Germany on 28.05.2019. The suspect is also accused of being primarily responsible for the sale of narcotics via the internet, coordinating the procurement of narcotics, and managing the finances of the criminal group.
Approximately 50 kilograms of amphetamine, 16 kilograms of cannabis, 2 kilograms of MDMA, 900 grams of cocaine, 600 grams of heroin, and a large number of ecstasy tablets and so-called LSD trips were secured from the suspect. Further alleged members of the criminal group were arrested during the extensive investigations.
The Central Office for Combating Cybercrime (ZIT), responsible for training and further education of judges, public prosecutors, and police officers, and handling complex and extensive investigations in the areas of child pornography and sexual abuse of children with an internet connection, darknet crime, and cybercrime in the narrower sense, played a crucial role in this operation.
Eleven suspected masterminds of the platform were arrested on suspicion of banditry in the trafficking of narcotics on a large scale. The ZIT, established on January 1, 2010, is the first point of contact for the BKA for internet crimes with unclear local jurisdiction in Germany or mass proceedings against numerous suspects nationwide. It also serves as the national German contact point in the Judicial Cybercrime Network, a European network of judicial authorities for combating cybercrime.
Press representatives are invited to the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) in Wiesbaden on June 28, 2019, for a press statement regarding the seized drugs from the shutdown online drug store "Chemical Revolution." The spokesperson of the Central Office for Combating Cybercrime (ZIT) of the General Prosecutor's Office Frankfurt am Main, Senior Public Prosecutor Georg Ungefuk, and the head of the Department for Serious and Organized Crime at the BKA, Dr. Sabine Vogt, will be present.
