Drug suspect taken into custody
Criminal Arrest in Poll District: Suspected Drug Dealer Apprehended
In an incident that unfolded on Monday evening, August 18th, a suspected drug dealer was apprehended by police officers in the Poll district.
The sequence of events began at around 8:45 PM, when the suspect was observed at the KVB bus stop "Baumschulenweg". One of the men matched a description of a suspect in a previous property crime, leading to the observation. However, the observation did not result in the discovery of any illegal substances or money at the bus stop.
As the suspect attempted to flee towards the adjacent park, a patrol car arrived for a routine check. The suspect's attempted escape occurred before the brief chase ensued, leading to the temporary detainment of the individual.
During the apprehension, nearly 80 grams of cocaine were found on the suspect. Additionally, a low four-digit sum in typical "dealer" denominations was discovered.
The plainclothes officer who tracked down the 35-year-old suspected drug dealer at the Baumschulenweg bus station has not been named in the available information. The observation of the suspect at the bus stop did not lead to the temporary detainment of the suspect before the apprehension in the Poll district.
The suspect's unsuccessful attempt to flee was a futile effort, as the police were able to apprehend him shortly after. The observation and subsequent apprehension took place before the suspect could escape the district.
The suspect is to be brought before a judge today to face charges related to the possession and distribution of cocaine. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be released as they become available.
