Drunk driving accident with resisting suspect, identified as Blomberg
A 39-year-old man from Bayreuth is facing a comprehensive criminal investigation following an intoxicated collision on the Hellweg (B1) in Blomberg.
According to the Lippe PoliceControlCenter, the man was driving towards the city center when he collided with an Audi driven by a 22-year-old local resident at the intersection of Hellweg and Feldohlentrup. Both drivers were unharmed in the incident.
During the investigation, it was found that the 39-year-old was heavily intoxicated. The man reportedly resisted the blood test, injuring a police officer in the process. However, no investigations have been reported against the arresting officer.
Intriguingly, the man presented a Hungarian driver's license with signs of forgery, suggesting he may not have had a valid driver's license.
The man spent the night in police custody after the incident. Both vehicles were severely damaged and had to be towed away.
Prior to the collision, the man was reportedly driving with swerving lines and was in danger of going into the ditch.
