Drunken Road Accident in Birkenfeld, Pforzheim: Driver Sustains Serious Injuries

On Sunday night, a 38-year-old man was involved in an alcohol-related accident on district road 4576 towards Graefenhausen. The incident occurred around 00:15.

According to the police, the man was driving a Renault when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a roadside post. The impact caused the car to overturn several times. The driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Upon arrival at the scene, the police detected a strong smell of alcohol on the driver's breath. A subsequent breath test showed a reading of approximately 2.00 mg/l, which is over the legal limit in Germany.

As a result of the accident, the driver's driving license was temporarily confiscated. He was also required to provide a blood sample. The estimated damage to the car is around 5,000 euros.
