Parkin, a leading parking operator, has entered into a significant agreement with charge&go, a subsidiary of global technology and investment group e&, to install 200 ultra-fast Direct Current (DC) electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Dubai. This project is set to commence in October 2025 and continue for a duration of 10 years.

The new charging stations aim to drastically cut EV charging times, with the goal of reducing charging times to under 30 minutes. These charging points will be strategically located in key high-traffic areas, including residential communities, major retail, and leisure hubs in Dubai.

The initiative is part of Dubai's ambitious AI Strategy 2030, which seeks to transform mobility and traffic management in the city. Currently, Dubai boasts an impressive 40,000 electric vehicles.

In a separate development, the CiTTi Awards will celebrate achievements and innovations in EV charging infrastructure. The fourth annual CiTTi Awards will take place on 25 November 2025 at De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in London. This event is an unmissable occasion for the UK's transportation sector.

The CiTTi Awards is a separate event from the installation of charging stations in Dubai by Parkin and charge&go. The location for learning more about the CiTTi Awards can be found at www.cittiawards.co.uk.

Parkin's network of paid parking spaces numbers 212,000. As part of the 'park and charge' protocol, vehicles will be permitted to occupy designated bays only while charging. This system is expected to streamline the parking and charging process, making it more efficient for EV owners.

e&, formerly known as Etisalat Group, is a UAE-based technology provider for the charging stations. The company's involvement in the project underscores its commitment to sustainable and innovative solutions in the transportation sector.

This partnership between Parkin and e& marks a significant step forward in Dubai's efforts to promote electric mobility and reduce carbon emissions. As the city continues to grow and evolve, initiatives like this one will play a crucial role in shaping a more sustainable future.
