Dubai sees the introduction of a new digital platform by RTA, aimed at revolutionizing the driver training experience.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has taken a significant step towards seamless and sustainable mobility with the launch of the Tadreeb Digital Platform on August 16, 2022. This innovative platform aims to revolutionize driver training and licensing, unifying all driving institutes across the emirate.
Tadreeb, which means 'training' in Arabic, digitizes training, assessments, and trainee data, ensuring high-quality training, licensing professional drivers, and improving governance in line with global best practices, according to Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA's Licensing Agency.
The platform is designed to enhance user experiences, with more than 3,400 instructors supporting Tadreeb and over 3,000 vehicles used in the training process. Each training route is geo-tracked and linked to the central system, providing stronger oversight through smart dashboards.
Tadreeb aims to enhance safety standards and streamline qualification processes, contributing to lowering road fatalities among new drivers. The platform utilizes artificial intelligence to tailor instruction to individual needs, delivering over six million hours of monitored instruction per year.
RTA plans to strengthen automated oversight on the Tadreeb platform to meet future mobility needs, and to use AI to personalise training further. The system is designed to lower operating costs, making driver training more efficient and accessible.
A key benefit of the Tadreeb platform is reduced waiting times for permits. The platform has earned the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award, further testament to its effectiveness and impact. Tadreeb is the first unified driver training system accredited by the International Commission for Driver Testing.
By improving compliance from instructors, Tadreeb contributes to a safer and more efficient driving culture in Dubai. Currently, the platform serves approximately 250,000 trainees annually, and its impact is expected to grow as more drivers are trained under its auspices.
In conclusion, the Tadreeb Digital Platform is a significant step in RTA's push for modernizing driver training and licensing, aiming to improve safety, efficiency, and governance in line with global best practices.
