Duisburg Prosecutor's Office and Wesel - Dinslaken County Police Department issue a joint statement

In a recent incident, a 37-year-old man found himself in police custody following an attempt to break into a flower stand's cash box on Bruchstraße in Dinslaken. The incident, which took place on Monday at 2:45 PM, was reported by news aktuell.

According to the police, the suspect was observed tampering with the cash box, which was secured to a wooden post. The stand's owner was informed by a witness and confronted the man, causing him to flee. The police were notified and quickly apprehended the man, who has no fixed address.

It was later discovered that the man was already wanted in another case, as indicated by the outstanding warrant. Consequently, he was taken to a detention facility on Tuesday. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Duisburg did not request a warrant from an investigating judge.

The man is facing charges of attempted burglary. The police officers did not release him, instead taking him into custody due to flight risk and likelihood of reoffending.
