Dwayne Johnson, also known as 'The Rock', exhibits significant weight loss at the premier of 'Smashing Machine'
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, the charismatic actor and former professional wrestler, made a stunning appearance at the Venice International Film Festival over the weekend. The event marked the premiere of Johnson's upcoming film, "Black Adam."
Johnson, now 53 years old, was met with shock from his fans as they caught a glimpse of his newly slimmed-down figure. His preparations for the role took months and months to dial in with his strength and conditioning coach, Dave Rienzi. Johnson has been working extremely hard for "Black Adam" unlike any other role of his career.
In an Instagram post, Johnson detailed the manipulation of water, sodium, cardio, and lifting heavy weights that he underwent for the role. This intense regimen, he revealed, was something he was "really hungry" to experience.
Johnson's co-star, Emily Blunt, was also in attendance, wearing a sparkling silver, floor-length gown. The two posed for several pictures together, adding to the excitement surrounding the premiere.
Johnson's transformation for "Black Adam" is not his first drastic change to his physique for a role. In 2023, he revealed his diet and workout regimen for his leading turn in the film, which involved a significant weight loss, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Johnson previously underwent a similar transformation for his role in "The Smashing Machine," although the identity of his personal trainer during this period remains undisclosed.
At the event, Johnson donned a gray double-breasted suit, tan button-up shirt, and dainty eyeglasses. The day before, he was seen wearing a light blue collared shirt and black dress pants at the Miu Miu Women's Tales event.
As Johnson continues to push the boundaries of his acting career, fans eagerly anticipate the release of "Black Adam." The film is set to hit theatres soon, promising an action-packed adventure with Johnson in the title role.
